A little bit more about me…
JB at Work: My motivation is to create things that help make people’s jobs easier. I love taking an idea and nursing it into something tangible. Always learning. Always pushing myself to be better.
JB at Home: Always making my friends laugh. Often spotted at the gym. Also, often spotted at my favorite pizza place.

A star was born
2005: Hello World!
My introduction into programming came from my first friend Tom. Between the daunting task of considering who should be in my Top 8 and which song should be on my Myspace page, I spent hours learning HTML so I could pimp my profile.
2008: Teenage Angst
I attended Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology. I decided to study Electrical Engineering instead of Information Technology in an attempt to avoid becoming my father, a computer technician. Giving my former self a serious side eye. We could have been in a better position right now.
2011: Mama I Made It
I received a full academic scholarship to attend the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where I studied Computer Science.
2012: Error Handling
My second job was working as a teaching assistant for GEEN165. GEEN165 was the only class I ever received a “C” in. Amazingly, I worked my butt off to make up for that “C” and eventually became a teaching assistant. Getting that “C” really made me regret my choice to not follow the IT path in high school.
May, 2014: Internship
My junior year I interned for Deere & Company. During my internship, my main project was to design and build the help website for the newly overhauled Search Center.
July, 2014: Chicago, IL
Attends Beyonce and Jay-Z’s On the Run tour. Made living in Middle of Nowhere, USA for a few months completely worth it.
2015: First Developer Job
I too was a broke college student. Along with being a Supplemental Instructor for GEEN165, I got a part-time job at a local web design company called Spin-A-Web designs. During my time there, I worked as a web developer helping build websites for local small businesses.
